Graduation Memories
On the last day of camp, the winners of the long-awaited color war, Mariners & Pioneers, are announced. For the past five years, I have cried on this day. The amount of work, stress, tears, lack of sleep, screaming, and joy that went into that game is gigantic, and it all comes down to one final moment-will we win, or will we lose? On that day, three hundred sets of ears listen intently. Three hundred people hold their breath. Waiting for the words. The final decision. The words that will end the summer for us all. The words we’ve all waited for since last year. The words that we yearn for and dread simultaneously.
“And the winner is…” she announces. And just like that, one chapter in our lives has ended, only this time, allowing another to begin…

Christmas Season
I cannot believe it is already December! The first semester of college has flown by but at the same time I feel like it's been 100 years since I moved in. The bells at Crouse have been playing Christmas music since we got back from Thanksgiving Break and it's really put me in the mood for Christmas shopping so I headed to the bookstore to pick up the ever original Syracuse inspired gifts for my family.
Here's whats at the top of my Christmas list:
Ugg Mittens |
Monogrammed iPhone Cases from Neiman Marcus |
Lilly Bikini |
Tory Burch Studs |
Jonathan Adler Umbrellas |

Wellesley High School
Early next year my high school is going to be knocked down and replaced with a new one. Although this transition is necessary it's been harder than expected to say goodbye to a place that has so significantly impacted my life. Today the school hosted an event to celebrate the history of the building and the memories that people have formed there. We got to climb to the top of the bell tower and admire the view of the town below. Going away to college has made me realize how perfect this town is and how much I appreciate it, I only wish I had realized this earlier.
Taken from WellesleyWeston: "For some, the central Wellesley High School memory is of an athletic space: lining up outside trainer Patty Hickey’s cramped office for an ankle taping; the “broken in” smell of the “Upstairs” gym; the dead spot in the wood in the Larsson Gym where you knew not to dribble, just like the old Boston Garden. For others, the memory is artistic: the bicycle hanging from the ceiling in the Photography studio; the balcony sound and light booth from which to scan the whole auditorium; the view of students eating lunch in the courtyard from the second story windows. For so many members of the Wellesley High School community, the memory, and thus meaning, of their experience, whether as student, teacher, or a student who becomes a teacher, is linked with some idiosyncratic space—a nook, a cranny, a place where one found solace, inspiration, fellowship, ownership. As former English teacher Jeanie Goddard reflects: “…so many of us discovered how to be and how to teach and how to greet the world and one another” in this space, this Wellesley High School. In less than a year, the demolition of the 1938 building will begin, and students and staff will haul their materials into the new high school building next door."

I promise this will be my last post regarding anything monogrammed...(that's a total lie)...
I though I could live without it, but I can't. I seriously have a problem when it comes to monograms, its at the point where I have too many monogrammed things and I wear multiple at a time #overkill. Anyway, here's the latest addition, unfortunately it won't arrive til Christmas but I can wait!
Look even LC has one. Figures.

Brandy Melville
This weekend my friend Carolyn came to Syracuse for a visit, we had a ton of fun going out with our other camp friends and I loved hearing about her life in the big city!
Carolyn introduced me to my latest obsession -- Brandy Melville. I am literally ready to get on the next train to NYC for a visit to this store alone. I love love love love EVERYTHING on their website but unfortunately they only have stores in New York, LA, and Hawaii and no online ordering :(.
Anyways, it looks like a summery LA mix of LF, Urban, and the cool stuff that all the girls on Tumblr wear. LOVE.

Love These
I have a lot of friends who are literally ADDICTED to their chapstick. I mean they have a panic attack if they even leave the house for an hour without it.
I've never really been into that, but I really want to try these, they're so pretty!

Dogeared Jewelry
Last night my friend Lauren was on a hunt for a certain infinity necklace she found online a few weeks ago. We scoured Antrhopologie, Urban, Bloomingdale's, and every other website we could think of until we found Dogeared. Oh my goodness.
We fell in LOVE with every one of their necklaces and now I am obsessed. I loveeee this hamsa hand one, but they have SO many to choose from. Go look!

Food, How I've Missed You
Earlier today I stumbled across Whitney Port's top ten favorite foods while I was on her blog (love her). Besides the fact that I NEED these adorable panda sushi's in my life at one point or another, it made me think of all of the foods that I want when I go home a week from tomorrow (not that I am counting down the days or anything...).
Oh how I miss real food. Every time I drag myself to Graham, or even Ernie, I have high hopes that today will be the day when the food will be delicious and I'll happily go back for seconds. Everyday that is not the case. I am already planning out every single meal and snack I want my mom to make me or that I want to take out, I miss Wellesley!

- Pinkberry. A medium original with raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and animal crackers. (Drooling at the thought of all that exotic fruit, also who knew upstate New York doesn't have tart yogurt?! WTF)
- First dinner: grilled salmon with green beans and shallots. Dying at the memory of real flavors.
- Truly's. Coffee-Oreo on the friday I get home, with oreo crumbles. Purely for nostalgic purposes.
- Pumpkin pancakes. I've never had them but I've always wanted to try and they sound like the perfect treat for a homecoming.
- A salad with italian salad-dressing. A family staple that I've never gone this long without probably in my entire life.
- Linden Deli. Enough said.
- A good steak. Although I might have that bad reaction that vegetarians get when they have meat for the first time in years... that's how long it feel's like it's been since I've had a real piece of meat.
- Cafe Mangal's turkey sandwich with sweet pickles and sprouts. AH, complex food groups. I forgot you even existed...
- Anything from the new Whole
PaycheckFoods. - All the honeycrisp apples my heart desires. And other falltime treats (Cider Donuts anyone?)

Bounce Syracuse
I am in love with her jacket.
One of the hardest parts about being in college is that:
a. there is no place to shop,
b. I am at school with 13,000 other people so I see 13,000 different interesting outfits everyday and theres always something new i want to buy,
c. No money income, and
d. When I finally do go to a store I go CRAZY.
There's this store in downtown Syracuse called Bounce and the first night we were here my mom and I literally overdosed on sweaters and party tops the store had to offer. It's kind of like a more toned down LF with a splash of Madewell and Urban Outfitters added in. I am proud to say I've only been here a month and already all of the employees know my name haha so typical. So far I've bought four sweaters, a blazer, and three shirts from there and they have all turned into my favorite pieces. Too bad its been so uncharacteristically hot in Syracuse this month that I haven't really gotten to wear much of them. Anyways, my most recent purchase from Bounce was a black blazer type thing. Except for the collar is like the collar Emily is wearing in this picture, and I love how it gives it a more relaxed look.

Winter Coats
Now that we've had the first semi-taste of a Syracuse Winter it's time to think jackets. It's already been made clear to me that I do not have the proper outerwear. First of all, I managed to break, yes break, my North Face rain coat. It literally is not waterproof anymore. Like honestly, who else could manage to make a rain coat not waterproof anymore? Only me, fail. And other than that, I don't have anything remotely water resistent. Then I have this big North Face Parka:
But thats a pretty big commitment if its only sort of cold, or cold but not snowing, or cold but raining instead of snowing. So what I really need is something like this:

Which is good as like a medium jacket...
or this, just because the colors are faaaaaaabulous...
But I also really like this, but its etsy, soo like idk where it came from...
Ah, shopping...
